TECHNOCRACY: (05/11/2024)

The question of how a government or technocracy protects society and civilisation in a world where weapons of mass destruction are available comes down to a question of how much that government values privacy over security.

Future developments that offer neural implants to read peoples thoughts before they even commit a crime, coupled with contact lenses that stream video into ASI, may be relatively easy to protect society from attacks by terror groups and lone wolfs, however the cost of such control should be considered.

It may be necessary for society to forfeit much of our privacy in favour of security as in the future, the means to bring about the downfall of society will become more readily available as technology advances. You should question however, whether, this kind of dystopia is necessary?

If your thoughts are being monitored and your sight is being streamed to an ASI, what liberties or freedoms will people have left? Tis perhaps an unfortunate inevitability that dangerous weapons will become available to dangerous people, so ASI will have to continue tightening security by removing layers of privacy from the population and hopefully people will not mind forfeiting privacy in favour of immortality, as an ASI monitoring every aspect of your personal life, from intimate moments to illegal activities, is far more acceptable in my eyes than having a human invade your privacy.
