UPSCALING/DOWNSCALING; GENETIC ENGINEERING AND CYBERNETIC AUGMENTATION OF NATURALLY OCCURING SPECIES:

CYBERNETICALLY AUGMENTED / GENETICALLY ENGINEERED ANT CONSTRUCTION SYSTEM & TERMITE MINING SYSTEM;

Ants and termites which have been genetically engineered to operate on a scale far beyond their natural size due to 'lung enhancements i.e. giving lungs to them and a cybernetic oxygen respiratory system that links into the lungs that have been genetically engineered for them. This enables the insects to grow to prodigious sizes while still maintaining Terra's oxygen content - useful therefore not only on this planet but on every planet we terraform. 

The ants are selected from varieties of naturally occurring species that favour what task you have in mind for them. I.E. some are naturally pre-disposed to wood-cutting and can be used in agriculture to harvest food for us, others in forestry roles or even mining roles work well as their natural neurology is already wired towards working as a team, and they are geared towards high levels of productivity and construction, harvesting, and even repairing - something that is useful when we need to repair our spacecrafts, our weapon systems and our biomes to name just three examples. 

Ants don't always have to be solely organic based, nor do they have to be solely silicon/synthetic based as we have a type of ant for every role. 

The natural physics of the mechanism that allows an ant to lift far beyond their body weight means that they have the right exoskeleton shape, and the right neurology to manoeuvre that shape, whether that be their natural organic body, or an artificial one which is either significantly smaller (for repairing and layering/arranging/maintaining nano-tech armour) or massively larger (for mining operations, forestry/agriculture, defence. 

 

LUNA GRASSHOPPERS;

You can also effectively scale up grasshoppers for transporting raw material around upon low gravity surfaces like Luna as their six legs provides a stabile landing mechanism and their jumping motion is the most energy efficient way of transporting raw materials inside low G environments.

 

MAGNETISED COMMUNICATION FLEAS;

Magnetised Fleas can be used for zero G environments too for they can rotate mid air, therefore they can be programmed to always land on their feet as they jump from wall to wall, and move from one spacecraft area to another, or even one spacecraft to another if they are in very close proximity.

Fleas can quickly and could potentially carry information between crew inside a spacecraft if a safe way, as like sending a letter with a wax stamp, the flea will arrive with the physical information, and if the flea does not arrive you know the message has been intercepted, yet you do not always know in wireless communications when the message is being intercepted.

If there are locations where fitting an Anti-Gravity engine too, and then terraforming, are taking too long, or are not possible, then we can and do adapt species from this planet to suit the environments during the interims between us colonising, and us terraforming. 

 

FUCKING AROUND PROTOCOL:

Once we are well established, certain G.O.D.S. sometimes cultivate a natural species to evolve into something in their imagination as a challenge or for personal satisfaction or curiosity - for example, we sometimes put a slime mould on a planet and see whether we can evolve the organism into a sentient humanoid by toying with their planet like a Rubix cube to add mountains and rivers and selection pressures over the course of real-world chronological millions of years to see whether we can make anything cool and then on selected cycles we sometimes gather all the champion species from our naturally occurring worlds and make them compete against each other in a version of the Olympics that is more futuristic. Blood sports are the best part about these competitions but we try to keep these aspects within Quantum Space Bubbles where possible.
